Samsung Display is scheduled to begin mass production of AMOLED panels for the upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup in October 2026. According to South Korean supply chain reporting cited by GSMArena, Samsung Display will serve as the sole screen supplier for the series after Samsung Electronics decided against sourcing entry-tier panels from China's BOE.

Four Screen Sizes Reported for Galaxy S27 Family

The upcoming generation is reported to expand from Samsung's traditional three-tier flagship structure to four distinct models:

  • Galaxy S27: 6.27 inches
  • Galaxy S27 Pro: 6.47 inches
  • Galaxy S27+: 6.66 inches
  • Galaxy S27 Ultra: 6.89 inches

The addition of the Galaxy S27 Pro introduces a new intermediate size between the base model and the Plus. Galaxy S27 devices have already begun appearing in regulatory and standards listings, including the IMEI database and the Bureau of Indian Standards.

Panel Targets Signal Higher Shipment Expectations

Samsung Display forecasts shipping between 47 million and 48 million AMOLED panels for the Galaxy S27 lineup. That target marks roughly a 10 percent increase over Galaxy S26 panel orders, which sat in the low 40 million range.

Initial supply schedules outline an early ramp-up for the new Galaxy S27 Pro. Samsung has requested between 2 million and 3 million panels for the Pro variant before the end of 2026, followed by 4 million to 5 million units in 2027. Whether final retail demand will match those supplier forecasts remains to be seen.

Privacy Display Restricted to Pro and Ultra Tiers

Samsung introduced hardware-level Privacy Display technology on the Galaxy S26 Ultra to narrow side viewing angles and shield on-screen content from bystanders. While a July 2026 report citing The Elec suggested Samsung planned to bring the feature to all four Galaxy S27 models, October supply-chain reports state that only the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature the specialized panels.

Under the revised schedule, the base Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will retain standard viewing panels. With panel production underway in October 2026, Samsung Electronics remains scheduled to assemble the devices ahead of a commercial rollout in early 2027.
