Apple Adds iPhone 18 Pro Parts to Self Service Repair Store
Apple has expanded its Self Service Repair catalog to the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, alongside new parts for recent Mac desktop models.

Apple expanded its Self Service Repair store on October 20, 2026, adding official replacement components and diagnostic manuals for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The update also introduced modular parts for Mac Studio models with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, as well as Mac mini systems powered by M6 and M5 Pro chips.
The phone catalog includes displays, batteries, back glass, logic boards, cameras, and secondary hardware such as microphones, speakers, and Taptic Engines. Apple also sells designated repair tools and supplies, including adhesive cutters, suction cups, and torque drivers, alongside a seven-day rental kit priced at $49. Official repair manuals for both models have been accessible on Apple Support since September 22, 2026.
Display and Camera Replacement Costs
A replacement screen for the iPhone 18 Pro retails for $329, with an original part return credit of $16.45. The iPhone 18 Pro Max screen is priced at $379, with an $18.95 return credit. Replacement batteries sell for $129, resulting in a net cost of $67.08 after a $61.92 core credit.
The rear camera module, which incorporates a variable-aperture mechanism, retails for $249, dropping to $189.24 after a $59.76 return credit. Replacement back glass costs $159 ($120.84 net), and the front camera module is priced at $199 ($151.24 net).
Factoring in hardware pricing and equipment costs narrows the financial appeal of home fixes. Justin Scharlemann noted that after the $49 tool kit rental, completing a screen or battery repair independently saves less than $20 compared to official out-of-warranty service from Apple.

Desktop Mac Support and Inventory Gaps
While most listed phone components are accessible in the United States, Canada, and Europe, the replacement battery for the iPhone 18 Pro Max remains listed on the store as "Coming Soon."
For desktop computers, Apple added modular repair components including power supplies, cooling fans, logic boards, SSD modules, and port assemblies for the Mac Studio and Mac mini. The catalog update arrived ahead of an expected October 28, 2026 Apple event centered on new MacBook Pro hardware.
