Honor has scheduled October 21, 2026, for the release of its Win 2 lineup in China, confirming that both its next gaming smartphone and an accompanying tablet will include built-in active cooling fans.

The announcement arrived via Chinese social media ahead of the Honor Win Gaming Universe Carnival, formalizing the company's expansion into dedicated gaming hardware. The event starts at 14:30 local China time. Alongside the phones and tablet, Honor also plans to introduce the Honor Win Earbuds.

Active Fans on the Phone and Tablet

Official promotional renders highlight a wide, rectangular camera island on the back of the Win 2 smartphone. Beside a dual-camera system and an LED flash module, the housing incorporates a miniature active cooling fan accented by RGB lighting elements. Hands-on images shared by leaker Whylab earlier in the week showed a matching rear design featuring an illuminated logo.

Hardware cooling fans remain rare in mainstream smartphones, typically limited to dedicated gaming devices from brands like RedMagic. Honor previously entered this category in December 2025 with the original Win and Win RT, which featured a 25,000 rpm miniature fan. The company is now applying that mechanical approach across multiple form factors at once.

Qualcomm Silicon and OLED for the Win Tablet

The companion Honor Win Tablet follows a similar thermal setup. Official teasers show an active cooling exhaust and fan module embedded inside a square rear camera housing.

Honor China Smart Life business head Lin Lin confirmed key details about the tablet in September, stating it runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and carries an OLED display. The slate features a single rear camera, a single USB Type-C port, and skips cellular connectivity entirely to focus on Wi-Fi gaming. Industry reports indicate the tablet uses an 8.4-inch panel running at a 240Hz refresh rate with AI stylus support, though Honor has not publicly confirmed the panel dimensions.

Pre-reservations for the tablet opened on Chinese retail platforms JD.com and Tmall following the announcement.

Certifications and Conflicting Battery Numbers

Regulatory records and leakers have surfaced several conflicting hardware details across the phone lineup. Regulatory 3C filings in China point to three models under the internal codename Barrett (BRT-AN00, BRM-AN00, and BRS-AN00), listing wired fast charging support at 90W and 100W, while earlier reports pointed to 120W speeds.

Battery capacity also varies by report. Digital Chat Station reported that engineering test units feature a 12,000mAh typical battery (11,790mAh rated), a substantial step up from the 10,000mAh pack inside the 2025 predecessor. Other recent supply-chain listings cited capacities between 10,800mAh and 11,000mAh. Screen leaks conflict as well: some sources point to a 6.89-inch 2K OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate, while others cite a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel.

Managing Sustained Heat in Mobile Gaming

Thermal throttling remains the main performance barrier in portable gaming. While passive vapor chambers and graphite sheets delay heat saturation, high processing loads regularly force chipsets to throttle clock speeds after extended play. Placing spinning fans directly into the chassis gives the hardware a way to exhaust heat continuously, helping sustain stable framerates during long sessions.

By expanding the Win line from a standalone smartphone into a broader lineup covering phones, a compact tablet, and gaming earbuds, Honor is making a coordinated run at mobile esports players.

Launch Details and Market Availability

Honor plans to open sales in China on October 21 right after the presentation. The company has not stated whether the Win 2 smartphone series or the Win Tablet will receive a release outside mainland China. Final pricing, cooling fan rotational speeds, and exact battery ratings will be confirmed during the event.
