Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Supports Three Active SIM Connections Simultaneously
Huawei's Mate 90 Pro Max can keep three cellular lines active at once, though the configuration comes with a domestic carrier restriction.

Huawei has expanded beyond standard dual-SIM limits with the Mate 90 Pro Max, introducing hardware that allows three cellular lines to operate at the same time. Following the lineup's launch in China on October 1, 2026, official technical specifications confirmed the handset accommodates four total SIM profiles and can sustain three active connections in a triple-standby configuration.
Quad-SIM Profile Architecture
Most modern smartphones limit concurrent cellular connections to dual-SIM dual-standby mode. The Mate 90 Pro Max modifies this setup by pairing two physical nano-SIM slots with two internal eSIM profiles.
While users cannot run all four profiles simultaneously, the handset allows two physical nano-SIMs and one eSIM to receive network services, calls, and text messages concurrently.
The feature includes a network prerequisite. Technical documentation and reporting from GSMArena indicate that two of the three active connections must be from the same Chinese carrier. The setup allows personal, business, and data lines to run concurrently, but prevents operating across three distinct telecom operators.
Hardware and Imaging Specifications
The connectivity setup is paired with a 6.9-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED panel reaching a peak local brightness of 12,000 nits. The smartphone runs HarmonyOS 7.0 on Huawei's Kirin 9050 Pro processor.
Power is supplied by a 6,800 mAh battery supporting 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Huawei also claims its converged Wi-Fi and cellular antenna system provides a 2dB signal gain, boosting download speeds by up to 40% in congested network areas.
The rear camera module combines a 50MP primary sensor, a 40MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor. Alongside the handset, Huawei introduced the optional Ruiying Z10 modular camera add-on for 5,999 CNY (approximately $900 USD), featuring a 1-inch sensor and 10x continuous optical zoom that mounts directly to the device.
Market Status and Global Availability
Early third-party retail listings and database entries initially listed the device with standard dual-SIM limits before Huawei clarified the triple-active capability. In China, the Mate 90 Pro Max starts at 9,499 CNY (around $1,400 USD), launching alongside the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design.
Whether this triple-standby feature will function with international carriers outside mainland China remains unconfirmed. Huawei has not announced international pricing, release windows, or whether carrier pairing rules will apply abroad.
