The Next Evangelion Game Puts You in NERV HQ, but Not as Shinji
Studio Khara and Pixelity have revealed Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections, an extended reality trilogy shifting its debut into 2027.

South Korean developer Pixelity Inc. and Studio Khara have released the debut teaser trailer for Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections, an extended reality action-adventure project based on the 1995 television anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Rather than placing players in the cockpit of an Evangelion as Shinji Ikari, the title casts players as an original protagonist: a new NERV officer cadet striving to become an Evangelion pilot.
A Trainee Perspective on the 1995 Timeline
Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is designed as the first installment of a planned trilogy structured around the timeline of the original 26-episode anime series. This first chapter covers the events of episodes 1 through 11, presenting an alternate-universe retelling that introduces original characters alongside the classic cast.
The debut teaser depicts operational duties and downtime within NERV headquarters. Shown sequences include running through the facility, shooting range training, vehicle and Evangelion maintenance, hedge-trimming alongside Rei Ayanami, and eating cake or pie with Asuka Langley.
Outlets including UploadVR and Anime News Network reported that the title will incorporate cooperative play, allowing players to team up with anime characters and fellow NERV trainees.
New Cast Members
The project introduces six original characters and their Japanese voice cast:
- Manaka Iwami as Erisa Nozaki
- Gakuto Kajiwara as Martin Dasen Holloway
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Tomohito Yagi
- Hana Hishikawa as Rimi Okada
- Takayuki Nakatsukasa as Shogo Yamamoto
- Genta Nakamura as Haruki Utsumi
Pixelity originally announced the project in February 2025 targeting a 2026 launch. Reports from Anime News Network and Yardbarker note that the release has since moved back to 2027, a shift confirmed by the public debut of the teaser trailer on September 29, 2026.
Release Window and Hardware Availability
Prior to the trailer's public release, Pixelity held an in-person hands-on preview near Union Square in San Francisco on September 25, 2026, hosting approximately 80 attendees chosen via lottery.
Specific headset platforms, hardware requirements, and pricing have not been announced, with developer materials referencing only "various VR devices." An exact release date within 2027 has not been disclosed.
